Food Law, Food Code and Guidance Webpage Information Michigan’s Food Law of 2000 has been amended, with the changes taking effect on 1 April 2008. One of the most significant changes is that Michigan Food Law adopts the 2005 version of the Food and Drug Administration Food Code. MMDHD will provide a booklet form of the 2005 Food Code at your next routine inspection, if you have not yet received one at the orientation sessions that were held at the health department in March of 2008.
