Michigan Association for Local Public Health

The Michigan Association for Local Public Health (MALPH) was founded in 1985 as a private, non-profit, 501-C3 state association. MALPH is organized to represent Michigan’s 45 city, county, and district health departments before the state and federal legislative and executive branches of government. MALPH acts as an incubator to develop and improve the state of the art of local public health in Michigan, and also organizes and delivers training and education opportunities for local and state public health staff.

MALPH includes six forums which represent the following areas of practice:

  • Public health education and nutrition
  • Public health nursing
  • Environmental health
  • Health administration and finance
  • Public health medicine
  • Public health information systems

Visit www.malph.org to learn more about this organization. When you get to the MALPH home page, you can click on “Directory” for contact information for each local public health department in the state.
