The Mid-Michigan District Health Department provides education regarding tobacco cessation opportunities as well as enforcement of tobacco free laws and policies. On August 16, 2011 the City of Greenville passed a Tobacco-Free Recreation Area Resolution prohibiting the use of any tobacco product at any of the public outdoor recreation areas within the city limits of Greenville including trails, parks, and playgrounds. The resolution also delegated enforcement authority to the Health Department.
