Community Health and Education Division

MMDHD's Community Health and Education Division strives to be a leader in public health, while caring for the residents of Clinton, Gratiot, and Montcalm Counties. The division's programs include the following:

Breastfeeding Support- Helping mothers overcome breastfeeding challenges.

Children's Special Health Care Services- Care for children and some adults with special health care needs and their families.

CHED Staff

Communicable Disease Program- Investigating diseases to prevent spread in the community, informs those who may have been exposed, and provides consultations to schools and childcare centers

Dental Care- Focusing on the education and prevention of oral diseases for all ages.

Hearing & Vision Clinics- conducting hearing and vision screenings in all Michigan schools, starting in preschool.

HIV Testing and Counseling- Offering both anonymous and confidential HIV and STD testing.

Immunizations- Providing vaccinations as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP).

Lead Poisoning Prevention- Educating and informing ways to reduce you and your child’s exposure to lead.

Pathways to Better Health- Connecting you to community programs and services to better your health. It’s completely FREE for those who qualify! 

Family Planning/Reproductive Health- Providing affordable reproductive health services for women and men.

Women, Infant & Children (WIC)- Promoting healthy mothers, infants, and children by providing nutrition education and supplemental food to pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5.
