Public Health Nurse I/II (2 vacancies), Full-Time, 1.0 FTE based in Montcalm Office - Stanton and 0.8 FTE based in Clinton Office - St. Johns

General Description of Responsibilities:

The public health nurse is responsible for providing the nursing component of agency services and health programs.  They exercise a considerable degree of independent and professional judgment in planning for and implementing public health nursing services in the district.  Public health nurses are expected to be able to assume leadership roles and may be responsible for some coordination and review of work performed by other professional staff and public health representatives.  They must be knowledgeable in assessing community health needs.  Nurses must exercise considerable skill in working with clients and their families, other employees and the public; understand traditional public health activities; and, understand chronic disease control and prevention through risk reduction.

WIC Peer Counselor (Breastfeeding Support), Full-Time 0.8 FTE                        (32 hours/week), Montcalm Branch Office - Stanton

General Description of Responsibilities:

At this level, the employee is a paraprofessional support person who gives basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers enrolled in the Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) program.  Assigned duties and responsibilities will be directed and monitored by supervisory and professional staff.
