Michigan's Smoke-Free Law
The Tobacco-Free Recreation Area Resolution prohibits the use of any form of tobacco at any public outdoor recreation area, including trails, parks and playgrounds. The resolution also delegates enforcement authority to local health departments. If you would like to file a complain regarding a violation of the Tobacco-Free Recreation Area Resolution, please fill out a complaint form (found below under Quick Links) and submit it to the appropriate branch office of the Mid-Michigan District Health Department.
The Mid-Michigan District Health Department also provides education regarding tobacco cessation opportunities. For assistance with tobacco cessation resources, contact our Health Educator, Cheryl Thelen, at 989-831-3634.
